一次潛水的邂逅，令作者崎山先生深深地地愛上一個菲律賓小島，也因為這次緣份的相遇，使他毅然告別30年的忙碌但沒有方向的上班族生活並將自己的退休金用作買下這小島的費用。從此與島上五百多個原住島民生活並打開人生精彩的新一頁，而這小島的名字就是卡兒哈甘(Caohagan Island)。
在卡兒哈甘生活了20年，崎山先生一真想著如何保育小島原生的自然環境，一方面希望以環保的方式提高島民收入以改善他們的生活水平，另一方面又要引導他們不以被物質生活所蒙蔽而捨棄那純樸和簡單的文化。我相信這一定是作者要面對的最有挑戰性的問題，就是如何帶領一個意識形態奧向著正確又健康的方向發展。
本書除了介紹卡兒哈甘的生活習慣，也敘述了作者在這20年的生活裡所反思的世界觀。我也想試一試漫無目的地在卡兒哈甘生活一段日子，相信一定可以帶給我新的衝擊。
Webform is a great module in Drupal which help collecting user data. Recently i am working on a new website which needs a webform and one of the field is a selection list contains the node titles of a specific content type. 失敗很少能成為成功之母，相反，成功會成為失敗之母。許多人在成功後都會飄飄然，忘了出身，忘了過去，忘了年輕掙扎時的理想和真誠。魯迅詩：「一闊臉就變」，實在是對社會人性的精準觀察。

倫敦大學政經學院教授、澳洲籍政治學者明諾格(Kenneth Minogue)對於貪腐，有很精闢的定論。他指出全世界只有英語國家系列──英、美、加拿大、澳洲、紐西蘭這一組──先天對貪腐有強大的免疫力，其他所有國家，包括俄國，貪腐是人類行為的常態。
