ImageCache allows you presetting the uploaded image like cropping and scaling. Download the following two modules.
Enable the features as shown below.
Create a new ImageCache preset @ Administer –> Site building –> ImageCache. In the following preset, it will resize the image to 60 x 60 pixels.
Now you can apply this new ImageCache preset @ Administer –> Content management –> Content types –> Manage fields –> Display Fields as well as your customized View.
